Our Japanese Persimmons are ready! We will have them available tomorrow, Saturday, October 12th from 2-5 pm. Can’t make it out on Saturday? No worries! We will be available by appointment on Sunday, October 13th.
We are selling them in trays of a dozen for $20. And, unlike our blackberries this year, quantities are limited, so get them while you can! : )
Japaneses Persimmons are a real treat, and not at all like the astringent persimmons native to North Carolina. You can eat them as they are now, slightly crisp and sweet, or you can wait until they are very ripe and mushy and even sweeter. They are great in jams and baked goods. Just google Japanese Persimmon recipes and your mouth is guaranteed to water!
